HAPPY BIRTHDAY FRED PERRY!!! 100 Years

The Fred Perry Centenary celebrations begin today Monday 18th May, one hundred years to the day since Britain’s greatest tennis player was born.
Fred Perry, of course, is no longer with us but his remarkable legacy remains. His unprecedented achievements on the court still set standards for British players today, and his unique style is embodied in the iconic Fred Perry brand.
For those of you less familiar with his story here are just a few highlights. He won the Wimbledon singles three times in a row from 1934 to 1936. Prior to taking up tennis he became table tennis world champion aged 19.
In all he won eight Grand Slam titles before turning professional, and is one of only five players in history to have won all four Slams. He also helped Britain win four consecutive Davis Cups.

Not bad for a working class son of a cotton spinner from Stockport.

Today, the company which bears the founder’s name a century after his birth is very much a product of the man. Fred Perry the brand is still resolutely anti-establishment, irrefutably English and relentlessly
setting the style agenda.

Below is a link to the new 100 Year website, launched today and highlights the key centenary activity planned for the coming months, we hope you enjoy the site.
